Consortium Meetings for Strategic Planning |
|||
| The backbone of this strategic planning process is the meetings with participating consortia across the state. Below you will find our upcoming meeting schedule, as well as a list of participants from past meetings. Second Advisory Committee Meeting, April 12, 2006 The second planned meeting will bring the Advisory Committee Members together in Springfield, IL at the conclusion of the Connections Conference. The group will discuss progress made in the three working groups, as well as directions for the future planning of the advisory committee as a whole. Initial Advisory Committee Meeting, January 26, 2006 The first meeting brought the Advisory Committee Members together in Champaign, IL to complete drafting the vision for Tech Prep in Illinois, discuss goals, determine strategic issues, and to devise plans for accomplishing the next steps in the strategic planning process. Advisory Committee Selection, December 2005 The Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) received nominations for individuals to join the Tech Prep Strategic Planning Advisory Committee. All nominees were extended invitations, resulting in a group representing consortia across Illinois, our Tech Prep Consultants, and members of the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB). Initial Consortia Meetings, Fall 2005 The initial meetings with consortia leaders focused on an overview of the strategic planning process, an introduction to environmental scanning, focused discussions about data and definitions, and an activity to draft a new vision statement for Illinois Tech Prep. The following meetings were held:
Initial Hybrid Strategic Planning Process Approved, August 2005 By request of the Illinois Community College Board, the Office of Community College Research and Leadership designed and outlined a hybrid strategic planning process that would best match the State's needs. The process was proposed and approved in August 2005. Shortly after, OCCRL began contacting regional representatives and consortia to schedule the first meetings. Start of the Tech Prep Evaluation Strategic Planning Process, June 2, 2005 On June 2, 2005, representatives from the Illinois Community College Board, Tech Prep Regional Consultants and the Office of Community College Research and Leadership met for their annual Tech Prep Evaluation Planning Meeting. The group discussed pending Perkins legislation, strengths and weaknesses of the current evaluation process, and approaches for carrying out a year of strategic planning. Time was allotted to conceptualize the current state of Tech Prep in Illinois and to produce a first draft vision statement.
